These wonderfully fragrant Curry Leaf Powder were sourced from a small farm right here outside Los Angeles, California that shade dry them and therefore preserve their many health boosting nutrients like iron.
Savory, herbal and nutty, curry leaves are essential in South Indian, Sri Lankan and Mauritian cuisine. Curry leaves are called cari poulé in Mauritius and almost every Mauritian of Indian origin have a curry leaf tree growing in their back (or front) yard. It is a much beloved herb there. It is my most favorite herb and I always try to find new and inventive ways to use them.
My favorite dish with fresh curry leaves are Mauritian Fish Curry and Mauritian Mashed Potato.
